If you need some encouragement today, I hope reading this post will help! I’ve heard it preached many times the importance of waiting on God but I don’t find it easy to wait.
Cause in my mind, I view my situation as detrimental, I want quick responses and sometimes need a full course reversal but God is slow answering. At least from my point of view it seems like that.
And other times, I wonder if He’s even with me cause when I pray and pray nothing happens. I went to the scripture in Isaiah 40:31 which says:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – (KJV)
I read it over and over again and finally, felt a breakthrough in my heart so let me share with you why I believe waiting on Jesus is the best place for us to be in.
We’ll use this scenario, so let’s say you’re traveling with a heavy suitcase and even with its wheels, you’re still having a hard time pulling it. You arrive at the airport and you step on the moving sidewalk which takes you to your flight.
Now standing on the moving sidewalk, you don’t have to pull the suitcase, because it pushes you to your destination so you can rest in relief. The sidewalk mechanism is handling the weight for you. Think of that moving sidewalk as Jesus carrying your heavy burden (suitcase). He’s taken the pressure of pushing and pulling that weight/burden off you and put it on Himself. You get to rest while He leads you and He comes alongside on your journey!
When I thought about it from that standpoint this verse really made sense to me. I get tired quickly, but He doesn’t. He knows the way to go, I only think I know. He knows what is truly best for me, I only hope I’m doing the right thing. He knows how to make the right decisions in my life. I second guess myself all the time. He knows the bumps along the way and how to have me avoid unnecessary pain and suffering. There’s no way I can see ahead. He knows what I really need… my emotions go up and down.
The key here is He KNOWS. I DON’T. And, to let Jesus, who’s more capable than I, handle my burden is the best place to be so I can rest, relax and watch The Master at Work!
