Living in unfamiliar territory is sometimes scary…at least for me. All I know is, everything familiar is on the opposite side of the U.S. map. Yet, I know without a doubt, The Lord sent us here. There’s a divine purpose in His plan.
I don’t see the outcome… for the book I’m living hasn’t ended yet. God is still working on me. I can say this…it’s better to deal with unfamiliarity with God than trying to figure it all out myself.
Abraham had to leave his home to follow God not knowing where he’d end up. Noah’s life would change forever when God told him to build an ark in order to escape the flood. Building an ark was sure unfamiliar to Noah, so was rain!
Moses was way out of his comfort zone leading the Israelites out of Egypt and God had to remind Joshua several times to have courage cause he would take up where Moses left off. There’s a whole bunch more early Christians that were in unfamiliar territories and surroundings and yet came out victorious.
I love the Bible for God knew exactly what you and I would need today to encourage and strengthen us. These stories I read over and over because they so lift up my spirits. These Christians weren’t in any way special beings with super powers. They were exactly like us and yet God used them in extraordinary ways.
And, they all had issues like what we struggle with today: fear (Joshua), lying (Abraham), low self-esteem (Moses), etc., but God didn’t let that stop Him from working through them.
He can work through us even when we’re out in left field. We may feel uncomfortable, but The Lord knows what we need in order to live with daily joy. He will also equip you and I with all the tools we need to carry out whatever His purpose. He always knows what He’s doing!
Are you traveling West or East, far away from what you know?, don’t worry God is with you!
