My absolute favorite fish is salmon and making a stew with it and potatoes just makes me lil heart go pitter patter! This is an easy dish to make and one that can feed the whole family.

Salmon Stew

Course: Ordinary Recipes Made Gourmet


  • 1/2 stick butter

  • 3 large potatoes, peeled and diced

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 1 1/2 lb. piece salmon (preferably wild), skin discarded and cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 5 ounces baby spinach

  • 1 (15 oz.) can Carnation milk

  • 1/2 gal. whole milk

  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Cook potatoes and onions until tender. Drain.
  • Add butter, salt, pepper, spinach and both milks.
  • Stir until spinach welts and then add the salmon.
  • Cook until fish is done and serve hot.
