I don’t know about you, but does it seem like the days are going by even faster? I lay my head down at night and it seems like I’m getting up two hours later! I start my work day and before I look around it’s time for lunch. Could it be God is shortening the days as spoken about in Matthew 24:22 and Mark 13:20?
The days are more evil now than ever before. Morals are stripped away, people are confused, nothing can be counted on like pensions, and it just seems like more people are concerned only with themselves and their needs. The respect for your fellow neighbor is quickly sinking away.
In the days of Noah, the world was so wicked, the Bible says, “man’s thoughts were only evil” (paraphrasing Genesis 6:5). God actually repented for that moment that He made man. WOW! God was actually so disgusted at the deeds of the people that He wished He had never made man. It had to be bad, because we know how longsuffering and patient our Lord is.
But, His face smiled when He looked down and saw Noah. At least someone acknowledged The Lord and was serving Him. And out of the whole world that existed at that time, it was only Noah and his family, a small group, that were saved. It coincides right with the Bible that narrow is the gate and few find it (Matthew 7:13-14).
So, in order for anyone to make it through this wicked world, God has to quicken the days to give all of us a chance to choose Him or not. It’s up to us what we decide, but no one will have an excuse in the end which decision we make. That’s what is so awesome about The Lord, He doesn’t want anyone lost without Him (2 Peter 3:8-10).
He will make sure we all have a choice, before that time comes.
