It Twas the Night Before

It Twas the Night Before

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The night before a dreaded event can bring about a prelude of emotions that can keep you from getting a good night’s sleep. It’s that anguish which sneaks up on you when you have to go to sleep, because you know you’ll need your wits the next day to face the music. It could be a doctor’s appointment for testing, starting a new job, moving to a new city, or getting married!

Whatever the occasion you have in the morning, you can rest easy with God to help you sleep that night.

The Lord is our Comforter and He goes with us to every appointment, every new life changing event and every situation that we face. And, it doesn’t matter the occasion. I’ve had many occurrences where I had to face something that I wasn’t looking forward to and I needed God to go with me.

You may have to drive to another state to an appointment and you’ll be on the road for hours alone. If you’re like me, that’s not something I’d look forward to. But, God can go with me. I can listen to Christian music or a sermon as I’m driving.

I can take The Lord to bed the night before as well. I listen to sermons with my podcast app on my smartphone, earbuds on in bed every night. It plays while I sleep. God’s Word is still getting into my subconscious.

And, just when I need encouragement, a scripture will just pop into my head and it’ll be exactly what I needed at that moment. Not everything we face is pleasant, but having The Lord close to us makes it bearable and can even turn any incident into a miracle.
