Is God Waiting on Me?

Is God Waiting on Me?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

I love to listen to Dr. Tony Evans from Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas speak. I’ve been following him since the 90s when I’d catch him on my car radio. His preaching style has not changed in all those years and I’m so grateful for that.

He preaches directly from the Bible and pulls no punches nor does he tickle the ears just to grow more members. I really applaud that.

As I was listening to one of his sermons about being a comforter to one another, one point stood out was when he said, “God didn’t restore Job until after he prayed for his friends.” {use the Search the Scriptures to read the Book of Job}

In other words, when Job got his mind off himself and began to think of others, God healed him and blessed him with everything he has lost with so much more.

Am I waiting on God to answer me, while God is waiting on me to think of someone else for a change? Life isn’t always about me and my problems. I can be a comforter to friends, family, and strangers and in the background God is working on my behalf.

And, giving has its own rewards such as knowing that I was able lift up someone’s spirits. It always makes me feel good deep down inside.

Matthew 6:33 reads:

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
