You might wonder as a blogger, where do I get my ideas for writing new content? Well, sometimes it’s easy and sometimes not so. In this post, I’ll share with you how I come up with topics to share + 60 lifestyle blog post titles in case you write also and need a jumpstart. Let’s get to it!
My motto is future scheduling. I like to write down blog topic ideas in a journal that I keep on my desk. If nothing seems to come to mind, I will go looking at other blogs similar to mine for inspiration. I also use my Pinterest boards for help. And since GUIG has become more of my lifestyle, I can add additional topics to the mix like: recipes, business advice, tips for better mental/emotional care and even share my monthly series, “PINS I’m Lovin’ this Month” and older posts like my “ORMG recipes“.
Having an array of topics makes it easier to come with new content as opposed to a specifically niche, at least in my case. And adding these other topics doesn’t take away from my main goal of this blog which is to share the gospel and my Christian life experiences. It just means I have more that I can share and I really love that. Other things I do to come with topics are:
- Jotting down a quick description. I also like to add a sentence or two about the topic I’m considering in my journal. I may end up with 20 different topics to choose from so I’ll pick from that list to blog with.
- Visualizing first. Sometimes, I look for an appropriate photo first before I know what I want to write about. You’d be surprised how some of my content actually came together from a photo first and then the topic. Being visual, I can look at a photo which can invoke feelings in me and from there I can determine what to write.
- Praying, Bible Study: I love to pray asking God for whatever He might want me to share. Another way I get inspiration is reading bible verses.
- Re-writing and re-publishing. As times change, it’s fun to go back to older posts and give them an update.
- Using my imagination. Sometimes, I just let my mind go wandering LOL! I’ve always had a big imagination. I used to write books and poems so I’ve drawn on those experiences to come up with new topics.
If you’re a writer for a blog or possibly an author, you know there are times we get writer’s block. There’s been times when I struggled for weeks to come up with new topics. It’s just something that happens so if you’re looking for some possible titles, check out my list 60 possible topics. Some of these might not be applicable to you but you can tailor any of these titles. Just think of this list to get your brain thinking.

I recommend keeping a tablet and pen nearby because ideas can come and go in an instant! So, I try to write down those ideas as soon as I can. Even if I go in a different direction than my initial thought, I still can use the original idea in a future post and it may spark other ideas.
I’ve always loved writing because I’m really bad at speaking, I can never get the words out right but writing is different. It’s easier for me to reach deep inside myself and express my feelings with written words. I hope this post has given you more insight into how I come up with new content and provided you with some inspo if you’re needing it for your own writing.
