At the end of every year I reflect on my memories…achievements, events, good and bad. I try to learn from my choices and I try very hard to look forward and not back. 2014 is gone now and 2015 is here. It’s never too late to make new memories, start new traditions, and hold dear the great past events that taught me lessons and brought many blessings.

Typically I got month by month with pics,  but this time I thought I’d do something different. I decided to just list some of the main points of 2014 for us:

1st Quarter 2014 – I got very sick with the flu twice and so did hubby. I was in bed several days and couldn’t work. I knew I had done too much from the previous year but after about March I was feeling better. I remember having some times when my strength allowed me to crochet a bit so that was good.

It took a lot longer to be able to sing on the worship team and that was so frustrating to me. But God healed me and by April I was laughing, shouting, dancing, and singing!

Easter – This was when I made my entire outfit and wore it to church and after that, a professional photo shoot! My hubby took all the photos and I created the album in Photoshop! After service, he took me to a garden nearby. It was great day for the natural light to take the pics and we got a break from the rain long enough to do the shoot. I was so happy with the pics!

May/June – Worked hard these two months re-opening my Etsy store. Was so stoked about it!

I fell in love with slouchy hats and made a slew of them, also found my bohemian side and made a bunch of headbands with beads….so much fun!

By summer, I got inspired to take a look back and so I created “Blast from the Past” with crocheted flapper and cloche hats. I’m still into this!

July 25th – Lost a very good friend of my best friend, Norma, to cancer. In her honor, I created a blog with inspiration biblical images. Sad, but a great homecoming for her because she loved Jesus with all her heart!

August – I celebrated two major events: (1) hubby opened up his photo gallery and that was HUGE! and (2) I turned 51 on the 25th.

In the Fall, we knew we’d have to work hard because that’s typically a slow time for income but God blessed and we sold prints from the gallery, I worked overtime from client work and focused on ministry work.

In October, I got the writing bug really bad. I spent a lot of time in prayer and writing down ideas. I then created “Growing Up in Grace (GUIG).” Little did I know how much I needed to write.

In November, my church women’s ministry had its annual handcrafted bazaar. We made over $1,100 which supports us for a year so we did excellent! I crocheted hundreds of items to sell.

December – We received disappointing news about our income for 1st quarter 2015, but we’re optimistic and we know God will come through.

Hubby also decided on some new hours for the gallery and I am re-stocking my Etsy store for January!

Every year comes with its ups and downs, but to make it to the end knowing God has been with us through it all is comforting. So now…it’s time to make new memories! Hello 2015!
