If I wrote down on paper all the things Jesus has done for me, I would be writing forever. And from my list I’m most grateful for, is His grace. It means I have something awesome that I didn’t earn, but even more so, something I could NEVER earn.
Our deeds, no matter how much good we do, can not settle the sin problem which separates us from God. Consider this scenario: say you owe a debt that would take you the rest of your life to pay back and suddenly the creditor tells you, “that’s okay I forgive the debt, you don’t owe me anything“, wouldn’t you jump for joy?! I know I would and that’s just money.
Try paying back a “born into this world in sin separated from God, no chance to know Him, let alone go to Heaven” debt and all we have is the law from the Old Testament that we can never keep? It’s not possible especially without The Holy Spirit’s help.
Jesus knew we could never keep the law 24/7, it is impossible so He took our place on that cross. The grace we have now allows us to be in a relationship that wouldn’t have been possible had it not been for His incredible sacrifice.
God’s grace is an everyday experience. It doesn’t just gives us a ticket to Heaven, it strengthens, encourages and corrects us everyday so that we live on this earth with the hope of God.
Heaven is definitely our eternal home, the earth is just where we are now and it’s the grace of Jesus that will help us bloom where we’re planted.
