Do you have moments, even days or weeks that feel things in your life will never change for the better? I get those times in my own life. It brings me back to years before we moved to Oregon when we were living in Florida and not in the best neighborhood. We were not safe there and we knew we had to move away. Hubby and I prayed about what to do and I remember one day I was standing in our bedroom and I prayed silently but inside I was almost screaming. I told The Lord that we were stuck where we were. I was anguished…very anguished. But then in my spirit, I heard The Lord say, “you are NOT stuck, when I’m ready for you to move, don’t worry you will move.” I heard Him very clearly.
And, a short time later, we had the monies and means to leave not only the neighborhood, the townhouse we lived in but the state too! He moved us to Oregon. We’ve been here ever since. I learned a valuable lesson that day. And, I’ve never forgotten what He said to me. In fact, I learned a few lessons to share with you:
1. Be careful what we say. We can make matters worse just by the words we speak.
2. God is faithful. He always sees exactly where we are and He knows how to change things and when.
3. His timing is always perfect. When we wait and trust in Jesus, He will move in just the right time.
4. It’s okay to get frustrated, just don’t live there.
God is only moved by faith and when we let our negative emotions take center stage, we’re essentially saying we don’t believe Him. You may be in a difficult situation right now and maybe you’ve been there for a long time. You’ve prayed and prayed, but still nothing’s changed. Let me encourage you to keep praying and keep believing in God. His timing may be slow according to our timeframe, but it is ALWAYS perfect. He knows exactly what He’s doing all the time.
