I know many of my friends love coconut so this recipe is for you! These would be perfect to serve up at a party and works great as a finger food. It’s really easy to make as well and can be made ahead of the same day as your event.

Chocolate Covered Coconut Balls

Course: Ordinary Recipes Made Gourmet


  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate morsels

  • 2 tbsp. butter

  • 1 egg

  • 1 c. powdered sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

  • Dash of salt

  • 1/2 c. flaked coconut

  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts


  • In medium saucepan melt chocolate and butter on low heat, stirring constantly. Cool to lukewarm. 
  • Beat in egg until smooth and glossy. 
  • Add sifted powdered sugar, vanilla and salt; mix well. Stir in coconut and nuts. Chill 1 hour.
  • Shape into small balls. Roll in additional coconut. Put on cookie sheet and chill for 3 hours. Serve up with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate!

Optional: insert those colorful toothpicks to plate them up, that would look so cute!
