I really like using Instagram and as I was reading posts, I came across this one:
“Don’t try to overhaul your life overnight. Instead, focus on making one small change at a time. Over time, these small changes will add up to big transformation. Breath in and out and remember that moving forward means taking it one step at a time. #dontgiveup”.
WOW! I LOVE this! Lifestyle changes are big like moving from your house or even more…moving from one state to another. Other lifestyle changes like starting a family, taking a new job, retirement or maybe even changing careers all can take a toll on us.
Hubby and I have been on our journey now going on eight years since moving cross country. We have specific goals to reach and it’s taking a lot of steps to get there. I’m the impatient one. I want the changes NOW.
He is more realistic and trusts more in God’s timing. I know I’m blessed to have a man like this who reminds me of that.
I’ve seen a pattern throughout in my life how I’ve handled difficulties. When I ran into roadblocks, my first inclination was to run, to get away from it or maybe give up.
But, when I gave my life to Jesus, I no longer could just run away when times got tough. In fact, sometimes God allowed me to stay in uncomfortable situations to teach me lessons and to firm up my character. I can’t say I liked it, but I know He’s made me better because of it. You have probably felt at times to throw in the towel and give up too. But, The Lord doesn’t want us to quit. He’s a winner and therefore we are too.
When you’re making a big lifestyle change, it may require taking baby steps to get to the finish. You may not see the results right away but let me encourage you today that every baby step forward will get you closer to the big goal. And if or when you hit a bump, God will get you through it.
Finally, don’t give up too soon, you’ll never know what could happen. God is able to do some mighty things when we allow His will to be done in our lives. I’m reminding myself of this too, however long it takes for us to complete our journey, we’ll be better off waiting on God’s timing and be thankful for those small steps we’re making.
