Bad news never comes at a good time, doesn’t it?   Today was one of those days for me. And, it hit our pocketbooks badly, just when we were saving up and thinking we can soon apply for a home. But, unfortunately that may now be in jeopardy. I was on the verge of a panic attack and was just trying to calm down. I picked up my phone to check notifications and that’s when I saw the daily verse for today. It was Romans 8:28:

“All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose.”

It was what I needed and it sparked the idea to write this story. In the times we’re living in, there’s so much unrest. And, just when you think we can breathe a little, something else happens. Yet, there’s been times in my life that miracles came out of trials that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

When the economy collapsed several years ago, we lost so much clientele. However, we were able to compensate with other online ideas. None of which would have happened and I’m convinced that God does work good out of bad.

During the pandemic, we worried once again about our income as we’re both self employed. My hours were cut but I didn’t lose my job and some of those hours were added back as I was asked to take on additional work from a co-worker on maternity leave.

Hubby applied for early retirement and it was granted. He also applied for a business grant and that was granted as well. Finally, he opened an eBay store and has been selling well as more and more people are shopping online. God made up and over the monies we would have lost.

Another instance was back in 1999, the department I worked in was being eliminated. I went on several job interviews but nothing was happening. To make a long story short, God opened up an opportunity for me to work for myself at home and I’ve been doing that ever since.

I would never have thought working from home was possible for me and if I hadn’t lost my job, I would not have had the courage to pursue it. This story is a big reminder that just because I get bad news doesn’t mean it’s all bad.
