Years ago on a Sunday evening, the sun was just going down while the moon was slowly rising up. Hubby was engaged taking pics of it with his long lens and I was thinking about what could fascinate him to take hundreds of pics of the sunset?
I don’t have his creative eye for photography…that’s for sure. But, I know he sees something different every time he snaps a shot. Maybe it’s the light that particular night, or the scenery or maybe the way the sky turns a certain color.
Whatever it is, it changes every time even though it is the sun or moon. They come out every night but they never look the same. I think of the Bible in the same way. I’ve read many scriptures for years but it always has a different meaning to me.
Romans 8:28, “All things work together for good…” means one thing today but tomorrow it will mean something else. It’s the same Bible, but I get something new every time I read it. Which is why it’s so important to read it often. Those words have life.
Maybe a scripture doesn’t even come to life for me until I go through some circumstance and then I remember that verse and it comes just when I need it. God’s word is like that. It is powerful, uplifting, discerning and contains so many gems for our spirit.
Just like how each sunset changes through the lens of hubby’s camera, so does God’s Word for every believer.
